The Battle For Class B

The Class B division has historically been one of the most competitive in Section 6. The 2008 season should be no different, as nine teams will battle it out to see who is left standing come June 6th. In 2007, the Hamburg Bulldogs broke through with a big sectional championship win against Amherst, their nemesis from the north. Coming into the last season, the Tigers had strung together six straight Class B titles. Will these two teams battle it out again this year in the finals, or is West Seneca East going to be the surprise team of Class B this season? Last year, the Trojans lost a heartbreaking triple overtime game in the semifinals. Will they breakthrough in 2008 or will a dark horse develop to emerge as sectional champions? What's your take?

I agree that Class B will be really tight again this season. Amherst has an incredible attack. West Seneca East is solid. However, my pick for the sectional title will be the Hamburg Bulldogs. The talent level is sick! Resetarits and Feuerstein at attack. The midfield is arguably the best in WNY. Both Springer and Domres are seniors. The rest of the middies are young but unbelievably talented! Maxwell will be solid again between the pipes. Remember, he's only a sophomore. Coach sev is the hardest working coach in the area.
I smell a REPEAT! Purple Pride baby!

Nonsense, Amherst is still stinging from last season's sectional championship game. Coach Henn will have the Tigers ready. Nobody can stop Doerflein and Rich!

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon with with Hamburg. They are just too talented overall as a team. I think they will play West Seneca East in the finals. Hamburg will win though.

No one seems to be giving the Williamsville East or Sweet Home a chance. Both schools have players that may surprise people this year. Grand Island is also a team that could compete for the B title. You never know until you play the games!

Watch for Amherst to claim their throne back as they return the core of last years team, including the entire starting attack, both goalies which split time throughout, along with two mids and d respectivly. However the arent going to be handed it as Hamburg returns their entire offense from last year but i believe their defense will be suspect as the lone returning starter is a freshman, therefore they will rely on the goalie maxwell who is exceptional to pull them out some games. Lastly WSE will have to prove to all that their offense is not just Strassburg and Dimillo because teams with two good defenders can beat them in the mean time on the other side of the ball their defense will have to hold up to keep the games close.
Beyond that there is not much that can pose a huge threat to the big three. But this post means nothing as the games still need to be played. Let the games begin...

anyone who says that Sweet Home or South has a chance knows nothing, they may have some talent, but no where near Hamburg or Amherst.... and Lake Shore, that must be a joke, c'mon... LAKE SHORE!!!! thay have never been good. WSE is overrated . AMherst Hamburg in the finals. Hell, i'll take Amherst this year to return to the class B throne.

I think Hamburg's Defense is for real ! Ask the teams that played them. Defense along with maxwell in goal, hard to beat. Defense along with the scoring machine they have,,,, they are the class B ! I played them and found out the hard way.

Did any hear the winning crying Mike from players feeling that WSE should not have to play HAmburg because they are higher seed than Iroquios. Well he should just shut up. Maybe if WSE didn't loose so many games they would have been a higher seed. Earth to Mike no one care about your options, all beacuse you son plays for WSE if I was there coach I be mad as hell at you, that was a classless act.
Congrads to Iroquios who played a great game against us last night. Good luck against Amherst
